Position: Safety Officer - River Cruise Fleet
Location: Onboard Amadeus River Cruise Ships (Full onboard presence required)
Your Mission:
- Play a vital role in ensuring safety standards onboard our prestigious river fleet
- Responsible for safety compliance, safety trainings, incident reporting, inspections, and maintaining optimal vessel conditions
- Gain unparalleled exposure to river cruise operations while fostering leadership in safety management and teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular safety checks and onboard audits
- Monitor and maintain certification for safety equipment (sprinklers, life vests, fire extinguishers)
- Oversee docking operations and enforce safety measures along the quay
- Lead safety drills and ensure procedural adherence across the crew
- Investigate incidents and document findings for review
- Perform structured inspections of technical and navigational areas
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, logbooks, and compliance records
- Facilitate training sessions and crew safety engagement
- Act as the communication link between onboard and corporate teams
What We're Looking For:
- Experienced Safety Officer, Nautical Officer, or similar professional with a proven track record onboard river or seagoing vessels
- Strong knowledge of European inland waterway operations
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational skills
- Proactive and independent, able to foster a strong safety culture
- Skilled in conflict resolution and cross-department collaboration
- Fully mobile and ready to travel frequently while living onboard
- Fluent in English (German or other European languages are a plus)
