HVAC Engineer for passenger vessels - Costa Crociere
GOOD WINDS Marine Services is recruiting HVAC Engineer (Ventilation/Refrigeration) for the well-known Italian owner of passenger vessels, COSTA CROCIERE.
Departure: Summer 2026

Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the onboard HVAC and Refrigeration team across all operational aspects, including work allocation and monitoring, evaluation of results with initiation of corrective actions, professional development of team members, and oversight of timesheet management.
- Maintaining and continuously improving the quality of operation and maintenance in order to prevent shutdowns, defects, and damage through close monitoring and preventive actions.
- Ensuring the safe operation, monitoring, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of the provisions refrigeration plant, including refrigerated provision rooms, compressor units, refrigerant piping systems, and room fittings.
- Operating and maintaining HVAC systems, air-conditioning cooling water units (AC CWUs), chilled water systems, and associated cooling water systems.
Requirements:
Certificate for handling refrigerants which must include one of the following references in it:
- EU 517/2014 , EG 842/2006, EU 2015/2067, EG 303/2008, ChemKlimaschutzV (or other national law implementing EU law as above)
- EPA Program (40 CFR Part 82 Subpart F)"
- FGAS certificate
- STCW III/5 or minimum 2 years seaservice on position;
- Previous experience onboard passenger vessels
- Secondary school
- Mechanical Education
- Diploma Reefer/HVAC maintenance/service
- Experience as Deputy/Assistant Chief Reefer with:
- Operating, servicing/maintaining, troubleshooting refrigeration and HVAC systems; especially provision cooling and catering equipment onboard passenger ships/ferries for minimum 3 years.
- Including selecting, ordering and handling spare parts and consumable - related storekeeping
